There was no denying that 2017 was a year of great music. With awards season now in full swing, the 2018 Grammys kicked off on Sunday. From Beyoncé to Rihanna, we take a look at the chicest looks from the most talked-about night in music this year.
Grammys 2018 is no longer only about music. Some of music’s biggest names wore white roses on the red carpet in support of the #TimesUp movement.
“Tonight we stand with our brothers and sisters in music in support of equal representation in the workplace, for leadership that reflects the diversity of our society, workplaces free of sexual harassment and a heightened awareness of accountability that our sisters started on January 1st and continued through the Golden Globes and onward,” they shared in a statement. The statement specifically notes that the white rose was chosen because “historically it stands for hope, peace, sympathy and resistance.”
Priyanka Chopra spreads white magic on the red carpet of Grammys 2018. One thing is certain: the desi girl turned international superstar knows what suits her; a V-neck plunge and solid colours pantsuits have become Chopra’s go-to choices. She looked absolutely gorgeous donning a white satin suit within which she wore a black lacy bralette.
Lady Gaga set the fashion bar high, arriving early in a dramatic custom Armani Prive black lace jumpsuit with a sweeping skirt with a thigh high slit and train. The lady knows how to make an entrance.
Janelle Monae took her pant suit/tuxedo to the next level. Daring, expressive, and a nod to feminine rebellion — hair looks a lot better when kissed by a rose, don’t you think?
LANA DEL REY
Lana Del Rey’s starry ivory crepe Gucci gown was a goddess moment if ever there was one, topped with a starry headpiece.
Hailee Steinfeld turned to Alexandre Vaulthier for her sleek and sophisticated white column gown, worn with metallic over-the-knee purple boots for a rock n’ roll twist.
Miley Cyrus has gone through so many fashion and beauty transformations that one can hardly keep track of. Miley wore a black, velour jumpsuit with PVC and crystal heels. Her hair was styled in with a nod to old Hollywood glamour.
